Activities in the area
On Voorne Putten, Goeree Overflakkee and in and around Rotterdam lots of things are to do and to see for young and old. All activities are less than an hour away from our campsite.
Rotterdam:
The ‘big’ city, nevertheless nice to visit once a day when you are at our campsite. Recommended are of course the Euromast, the beautiful zoo Blijdorp, the harbors and the many shops.
Rotterdam is also a city with a lot of modern architecture such as the cube houses and the Boijmans van Beuningen museum.
You should not miss a cruise through the ports with the Spido.

Cities and Villages:
Other beautiful cities in the area include Dordrecht, Goedereede, Middelharnis/Sommelsdijk, Zierikzee, Ouddorp, Brielle.
Mills and other buildings:
On Voorne Putten and on Goeree Overflakkee many windmills and other special buildings can be seen.
Beautiful churches can be seen in Oostvoorne and in Brielle. The Brielle tower can be climbed just like the Goedereede tower.
A little further away but certainly worth the effort are the many windmills on Kinderdijk. Also nice with a cruise.
Museums and Ateliers:
There are many museums in the immediate vicinity.
The history and origin of the Second Maasvlakte can be seen very nicely in Futureland on the Maasvlakte. Here you can also take a boat trip through the impressive ports, or a bus tour along the major container companies on the Maasvlakte
In Rockanje the open-air museum ‘De Duinhuisjes’ with regular ‘living history’ days.
In Tinte is an old grocery shop ‘In den halven Maen ‘.
Brielle has a historical museum with attention for the eventful history of the town.
In Hellevoetsluis is the National Fire Museum and you can visit the oldest dry dock in the Netherlands, Jan Blanken dry dock.
Animals and so on :
Ouddorp has a nice goat farm with farm shop, De Mekkerstee . In New Tonge is Flakkee Fauna Park, a landscaped park with a lot of birds.
In our area there are various riding schools where you can ride horses, including in Oostvoorne, Tinte and Rockanje.
With the children:
In Brielle a large indoor playground; The Ballenbak.
Ouddorp has a nice playground; The Flipjes .
There is a nice swimming pool in Stellendam. Also in Middelharnis, Hellevoetsluis and Spijkenisse are swimming pools. In Ouddorp is at the Port Zelande park a beautiful swimming paradise.
Children’s farms in: Oostvoorne, de Agathahoeve, in Hellevoetsluis, de Kerkestee and in Rozenburg, de Beestenboel.
You may not skip the seal shelter A Seal in Stellendam.
Cruises:
There are a lot of boat trips to make with all that water around us. There are various tours from Brielle, Hellevoetsluis and Middelharnis.
Through Rotterdam and the surrounding area with de Spido.
In Dordrecht it is nice boat trip through de Biesbosch, on your own in a canoe or with a tour boat.
Active:
In Brielle is a beautiful golf course along Lake Brielle with 18 holes, Kleiburg.
An extensive cycle network has been established at Voorne Putten and at Goeree Overflakkee. There is also a walking network.
In the immediate vicinity it is possible to fish. In the Oostvoornse lake, in the lake Brielle, on the Grevelingen, in the Haringvliet and along the North Sea. Fishing boats can be rented at various locations or it is possible to sail along. Sometimes permits are required. There is a trout lake in Bernisse.
There are on the beach of Oostvoorne and along the Brouwersdam in Ouddorp many surfing and kite surfing options. There are different surf schools and material can be rented.
